Our client, a leader in automotive, healthcare, and energy manufacturing. Although based in Germany, the company operates manufacturing plants, R&D centers, and offices in 3 more countries.
With over 1000 employees overall and around 20+ specialists in the marketing department, they faced limitations with their static website. Despite being known for its high standards and certifications under various international quality standards, their internal operations in terms of website management were pretty poor.
Initially, they used markup, requiring manual updates for every change. As the business evolved and content needed to be updated more frequently, this approach became unsustainable. It was time to switch to a more dynamic and flexible solution.
That’s when Strapi entered the picture. Strapi’s ease of use, flexibility, and ability to integrate with different databases made it the perfect choice for this transition. The migration began with just the blog content but quickly expanded to include the entire website, including the portfolio, technology pages, and even the homepage.
The company initially faced a significant challenge: their static website made content updates cumbersome and inefficient. Every time a new blog post or product needed to be added, a developer had to manually update markup or any files, slowing down the process and reducing overall flexibility.
Furthermore, the previous system couldn’t handle dynamic content. As their business scaled, the volume of updates increased. This was especially problematic when multiple departments required simultaneous updates, creating bottlenecks in content management.
Before Strapi migration, they used statically stored data, which didn’t have appropriate flexibility to implement necessary updates quickly.
They needed a CMS that could:
After exploring several options, Strapi stood out for its flexibility, ease of use. Also, it was important for the client team to handle diverse content types, such as blog posts, projects, and custom components, with minimal technical intervention.
Switching to Strapi provided an immediate solution to their static content woes. By migrating to Strapi, the company not only improved its content management process but also enhanced the site's performance and loading speed. This allowed them to:
The migration enabled better collaboration across teams, as multiple people could now work on content simultaneously without disrupting the workflow. Moreover, the CMS's flexibility in handling custom content types gave the client full control over content structure and presentation.
Strapi allowed for quick updates to the website, empowering the marketing team to modify content without waiting for developer support. This made the content more dynamic and responsive to business needs.
Strapi’s ability to work with multiple databases and integrate with the company’s existing CRM and marketing tools ensured that the migration didn’t disrupt any of their workflows.
Strapi provided the company with a scalable system that could grow alongside their business. The CMS was configured to easily add new types of content, such as custom components and detailed portfolios, without technical roadblocks.
The Strapi migration was a game changer for this engineering leader. Here’s how we made it work:
By the end of the migration, the client company had a robust, flexible, and scalable content management system that enabled rapid content updates, empowered non-developers, and laid the groundwork for future expansion.
